For each and every request a web server returns a status code for notification of the event, if it was a success or a failure. Below is a list of http status response codes and their meaning.

Status Code Name Description

200 OK Connection is a success and content returned.

204 No Content Connection is a success but no content is returned.

300 Multiple Choices There are different choices that the client may follow.

301 Moved Permanently The URI has been moved to another resource. 307 Temporary Redirect 400 Bad Request The request cannot be completed due to bad syntax 401 Unathorized You do not have the necessary permission to access the resource. 403 Forbidden You do not have the necessary permission to access the resource. 404 Not Found Resource has not been found 405 Method Not Allowed Such a requst for that resource is not allowed 500 Internal Server Error Generic error message from the server 501 Not Implemented Request method not recognized by the server 502 Bad Gateway The server acting as a gateway received an invalid response 503 Service Unavailable The server is currently unavailable 504 Gateway Timeout The server acting as a gateway received a timeout 505 HTTP Version Not Supported The server does not support the HTTP Protocol version.
